Personal Safety App

The Peoplesafe SOS App is a personal security app like no other. Backed by the 24/7 Peoplesafe Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), any alarm raised through the SOS App will be answered by a trained professional ready to react immediately, unlike similar personal safety apps on the market which rely on family and friends.

How it works

Designed with simplicity in mind, if a user feels threatened or unsafe they hold down the red ‘SOS’ button for one second. This will raise an alarm to our ARC who will be listening in under 3 seconds, on average (2021).

The Alarm Controller will automatically gain access to the user’s GPS location in the event of an alarm, enabling them to send the emergency services directly to them, should this be required. The Alarm Controller will monitor the alarm for a minimum of 10 seconds before speaking, in order to assess the situation and ensure it is safe to intervene.

Share Location & Share Journey

Location sharing lets the user share their current location with a preferred contact. This can be done via SMS or an alternative message system (e.g., Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp).

Within the message received by the preferred contact there will be a URL link to Google Maps with the app user’s location. Users can choose to share their location multiple times throughout their journey which will give the nominated contact an indication of the route they are travelling.

Shared locations are also saved on the Peoplesafe platform and are made available to our ARC Controllers in the event of an alarm.
