Cross-Border Coverage
During an emergency we’ll continually monitor and assist you across borders (where the service is covered), ensuring effective protection on the move
Three ways to connect
The service is available via a selection of our personal safety devices. No special / additional equipment is required.
Whilst there is an emergency telephone number in place for all countries in the EU, a recent Foreign Office poll found that just 3% of people in the UK know that 112 is the EU emergency phone number.
However, even if you are aware of the service, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be put through to an English-speaking operator.
Peoplesafe allows users to notify them in advance if they are entering a dangerous or threatening situation. This can be done in several different ways: by leaving a voice memo message giving details of who you are meeting and where you are going… by raising an alarm and asking the controller to stay on the line until you are safe, or summon help should an incident arise.
Dialling 999 and speaking to an emergency service operator requires more time and effort than simply activating an alarm button on your phone or personal safety device.
With Peoplesafe, not only will the Incident Manager contact the emergency services, but they can also call colleagues and follow instructions according to the requirements you have given.
When answering an alarm, Peoplesafe’s Incident Managers will immediately know who it is, where they are, and precisely what they want done in the event of an incident (because you have provided them with instructions to follow in an emergency).
Peoplesafe’s Incident Managers will call police control rooms directly, where they avoid having to explain the situation to the 999 operator first and waiting for the call to be transferred to the local police operator.
Either as a result of panic, fear, pain or distress.

Whilst most visits abroad are trouble free, there are some alarming statistics about travelling abroad.
Over 17,500 reported incidents involving Britons in 2013/14
Just under 4,500 deaths, though the number is higher due to how the stats are recorded.
Number of those hospitalised is consistently over 3,000.
Five of the top ten countries where assistance has been required are in Europe
